Become a member of Highland YLAG
If you are aged 16-30, based in Highland and have an interest in rural action to make our communities better places - we'd be thrilled to welcome you into the YLAG as a member! It's really important to us that the YLAG represents the views and experiences of young people from across the whole Highland region. We are especially keen to hear from young people based in North & West Sutherland and Skye & Lochaber to understand your perspective to influence our priorities and funding allocations.
Who can join?
Young people aged 16-30 from across the Highland Council region. Whilst Inverness City is excluded from the Youth Impact Fund as it is out with the CLLD region, young people from Inverness with an interest in rural action can still join as a member.
What will I be doing?
- Regularly meet with other YLAG members to discuss our priorities, funding and future plans
- Score & allocate the Youth Impact Fund to support projects which make an impact in Highland
- Help to shape our strategic priorities
- Work with the Highland Local Action Group to share updates from the YLAG and align our working
- Attend local events representing Highland YLAG and national events as part of the YLAG network

- Connect with like-minded people in Highland and the national YLAG with the opportunity to attend and be represented at national events.
