Project Summary

Youth Highland celebrates our 41st birthday this year, and currently supports 60 member clubs from across the Highland region and since 2016 set up and facilitates the Highland Voluntary Youth Network currently made up of 250+ organisations and individuals delivering and supporting work with young people.

Project Description

Belladrum - Tomorrowland Tent 2026

Youth Highland have been supporting young people to volunteer at Belladrum since 2018, with their volunteers roles including running youth work sessions to young reporters. This is becoming increasingly difficult without funding as the volunteers now run a whole tent called Tomorrowland which acts as a pop-up youth space at Belladrum. The group of up to 30 young volunteers between the ages of 16 and 25 all receive basic youth work training, leadership training, festival training and safeguarding training on the lead up to the festival. They prepare and plan their sessions and equipment, set up the tent during the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, then deliver sessions in their groups on a rota during 11am and 9pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Belladrum in the Tomorrowland tent and pack up and clean up on Sunday. The activities attract upwards of 500 people and act as a safe space where young people, children and families can seek a quiet space in the midst of the busy festival.
